General product information
With PERTEC® CIP/SIP FKM, a new special high-performance elastomer has been developed for use in CIP (Cleaning In Place) and SIP (Sterilisation In Place) applications, which are used where a very high level of hygiene is essential, such as in the food, pharmaceutical, medical and chemical industries.
In the process industry, the application components and materials are exposed to aggressive chemicals (e.g. nitric acid or hypochlorite) such as cleaning agents, high concentrations of grease and extreme temperatures. PERTEC® CIP/SIP FKM has been specially designed to meet these requirements in order to ensure reliable, long-lasting machine operation. The advantages of this material are:
- Resistance to high temperatures of up to +200°C
- Resistance to aggressive chemicals such as concentrated acids (e.g. nitric acid) or oxidising substances (e.g. hypochlorite)
- Low gas permeability
- Very good abrasion resistance
